HOW WE WORK WITH CLIENTS

We unlock your natural Charisma , enhance your Communication, and optimise Personal Impact & engagement:

PeakPerformancePresentations uses 4 tried and tested processes that will quickly result in you  being confident and comfortable making powerful presentations that have a lasting impact on your audience.  We do this by showing you:

  1. How to be fully present in the room and physically relaxed in your body so that the audience experiences your natural charisma and follows the subtle cues of your body language to feel open and connected to you personally.
  2. How to unlock the full expressive power and range of your voice.
  3. How to overcome stage fright: simple solutions to the fear and anxiety that public speaking evokes for most humans, by calming nerves and reducing psychological tensions that inhibit us physically and vocally.
  4. How to ensure that what you say  -  the content and structure of Presenting To Win  -  holds your audience’s attention, and leaves a positive and lasting impression on them.

Presentations are Performances
Most experts agree; presentations are performances, and actors know how to perform. The good news is that there’s no mystery or secret about what makes a good performance, and that most of us can be trained to perform at a much higher level of impact and engagement. Also, and crucially, performing well doesn’t mean not being yourself – effective communication is built on a foundation of authenticity and integrity; you can be yourself, and present powerfully. You’ve probably had the experience of going to the theatre or a movie, and being moved or inspired by an actor’s performance, whilst feeling that the actor wasn’t “acting”. What they were drawing on, though, was the full repertoire of dramatic techniques that allowed them to be grounded, present, focused, and open, and to communicate with nuance, detail, and utter clarity the story they wanted to tell. And if they were nervous about it, we certainly couldn’t tell.
Impact

The overall impact of a presentation is determined by three things:

1) How you appear (your energy, body language, and confidence);
2) How you sound (the quality, tone, and variety of your voice); and
3) What you say (the content).

The relative significance of these components, as you may know, is that how you appear counts for 60% of the overall impact, how you sound 30%, and what you say 10%; so we start our work with clients by focusing on what counts most with your audience – how you look, sound, and feel to them, before going on to show you how to design and structure your content to maximise its impact.

Four Foundations of Great Presenting

Using experiential exercises and coaching we help clients build their public speaking success on the
Four Foundations of Great Presenting:

  1. The quality of being Present and Embodied: So our audience experiences you as being there, with them, in the moment (neither looking forwards, or backwards). How to achieve that through simple somatic exercises - relaxation, breathing, and grounding practices that you can use before each presentation, and which will leave you feeling open, free, and connected.  We will look at ways that you can be aware of what is happening inside you, and be aware of what is happening around you, in the moment that it is happening. This allows you to simultaneously be more connected to yourself whilst at the same time improving your rapport and impact with others, so that they will feel you’re actually there with them rather than worrying about the presentation.
  2. The quality of Voice: This is about liberating your natural voice, which is transparent, revealing, connected to your emotions, and shaped by your intellect. We will look at simple techniques for preparing the body and warming up the voice that will expand your vocal expressiveness. We will learn exercises that release tension, leaving us with warm and open voices that people automatically feel drawn to.
  3. Psychological Preparation - Overcoming Stage Fright and Limiting Beliefs: Using simple techniques and exercises, we’ll find out how to overcome our anxiety about groups, and minimise any psychological tensions that may inhibit us physically and vocally.  We will put into place practices that easily counteract the negative effects of nerves and any self-limiting beliefs that may get in the way of our expressiveness.
  4. What You Say: The technical aspects of using content and structure so that you Present To Win. These include the fundamental rule of audience advocacy - always asking “What’s in it for You" (the audience); persuasion; how to make your presentation flow naturally; capturing your audience’s attention; opening gambits; using language and designing visuals to maximise engagement with individual communication styles; ending with the beginning in mind; etc.
